Getting across London on 28 July

We need to get from Paddington to King’s Cross on 28 July. Changing our day of travel is not an option.
Is it best to brave the busses or just book a taxi now?
It's 3 of us, including a 9yo, with luggage. Train tickets are flexible so it doesn’t matter if we miss our planned train.

If it’s 3 of you plus luggage I’d book a taxi. Going by last time there were strikes the buses are likely to be packed.

That’s what I’m leaning towards @EmpressaurusOfCats . Last time there were tube strikes on a day we traveled we only went from Kings X to the Eurostar, so didn’t notice the buses.

I might say differently if you hadn’t mentioned luggage, but as it is I’d say it’s just not worth the hassle.

Book a taxi, that's not far and pretty much on one road

JennyWreny · 22/07/2023 19:16

@MinnieMountain Did you realise the tube strikes have been cancelled (announced yesterday).

MinnieMountain · 23/07/2023 06:33

Yes @JennyWreny . Did you realise I posted this on 19th July?

Blimey. I think the poster was trying to help, in case you hadn’t realised the strikes had been called off! No need to be an arse.

JennyWreny · 23/07/2023 07:12

Thanks @SittingOnCloudNine. Yes, just trying to help. 🤷🏻‍♀️

EmpressaurusOfCats · 23/07/2023 07:13

That wasn’t necessary, @MinnieMountain.
