Can anyone recommend a lovely holiday cottage that accepts 2 dogs - just for me on my own so doesn't have to sleep many - I just so want a break but can't afford kennels and I have an old boy so I'd rather take them with me .

Thank you x

www.stayattherock.com has a lovely cottage with a view of the forest that's dog friendly. Right in the Forest of Dean, just cross the road from their gate and you're in the forest with lots of dog walks of varying length and difficulty - there are even wheelchair friendly paths if your older dog prefers a smoother surface! Full disclosure, it's run by my parents and aunt, but there's no advertising deal or anything, I really do think it's lovely and have stayed in the holiday cottages there many times!

Yes - there's a fenced paddock if they need some exercise (and a loo break!) without going into the forest! There are chickens and ducks there but they're fenced off, not wandering around and they're used to dogs running around nearby. It also means there are usually fresh eggs available!

There's quite a few in my area of west Devon. Air bnb is a good place to look.

The website is www.stayattherock.com - the dog friendly cottage is Forest View, so if you select that one on the site it'll show guide prices and then there's a link that'll take you to availability which gives specific prices for specific dates. There's also a phone number on the site so if you have any questions you can phone later today and I'm sure they'll be happy to help!

Todd And Gun have 2 cottages that have 1 bedroom. I believe they have heightened their original fences, which some dog owners found too insubstantial. We’ve stayed in the larger property in the centre of Gosforth and can highly recommend for dog friendliness, facilities and ease of booking.

You are probably sorted by now but there are over 10,000 dog friendly holiday cottages listed on this website. You can take up to 3 dogs, (most seem to allow an average of 2) and there are plenty of options at under £500 for a week. They charge an extra of about £20 to bring each dog for the week....

Please don't put me in a KENNEL! Why leave the family's best friend at home? Bring your dog along on holiday to enjoy new walks and adventures for just £20 per week.

Thank you - I aren't actually sorted so thanks - I lost momentum! I'll keep looking!
