Driving from Herts into London - good tube links

Hello I am going to the 02 tonight and there are train strikes! So was thinking of driving partly into London or outskirts , parking up somewhere, ideally residential and tubing the rest. Does any one no of any ideal areas I could park in and that have a tube station fairly close by? Driving from Hatfield

Stanmore might be an option. Not far past Edgware so easy drive. Car park, and Jubilee line to North Greenwich?

GayPareeee · 03/06/2023 08:46

You could try somewhere like Stanmore, would be a long ride but all on the jubilee and you’re getting in at the beginning . Or Hendon Central on the Northern and change as you’d literally be driving past it

Cockfosters. Close ish to Hatfield, has carpark.

Thankyou, just looking at this, online it say 'drive jn rate' £6- so you know if that is all day? Doesn't have hourly rates

Parking at the station usually just all day but might have an off peak on a Saturday

Thankyou! This is a good shout, don’t mind the long journey if I’m not having to change.

@dancingmonkey Yes, no change required, which is a good thing! Stanmore end of line, so guaranteed a seat, and there's a massive car park

Come down the A1 to Apex Corner - turn right - Edgware through to Stanmore.

Nitgel · 03/06/2023 09:10

If stanmore is full edgware has a commuter car park that you enter the far side of the car park £6

Nitgel · 03/06/2023 09:13

And you can always get the bus from.edware to canons Park for jubilee line

It's not one i've used before myself but looking online, the £6 appears to be for the full day.

it's half an hour. and not a nice drive especially the Potters Bar way. I live in WGC and I'm never doing that drive again

I'd recommend driving to Stratford Westfield and parking there. Then jubilee line. Very easy to do from M11

Thepleasureofyourcompany · 03/06/2023 13:41

I used to do Cockfosters behind sainsburys

Thats miles away isn't it

I’d go to Stanmore, rather than driving to Stratford! However, the car park is £6.20 all day and night until 4.30 am - you can’t choose a couple of hours.
