Nice pub lunch near Newton Abbot

Exactly this. Travelling down from Midlands on Sunday. Can't get into our holiday accommodation till 1pm and thought we'd have a nice lunch first. Limit of 6 miles either side of NA. Any suggestions?tia

The Barn Owl on the road into Torquay used to be quite nice but haven't been since pre covid. Or go the other way via Shaldon there are some nice pubs along there.

Ullacombe Farm is nice. Just on the edge of the Moor.

Second Ullacombe farm, you can combine this with a walk up Hay tor or popping into House of Marbles, Parke National Trust too if you wanted to make a day out of it during your holiday.
Ferrymans inn at Shaldon is good. A chain pub, but Dartbridge Inn, Buckfastleigh is pretty good too.

@Joebloggs12 changed our minds and took a picnic lunch! Decided to go out in the evening instead. Went to Two Mile Inn just outside Ipplepen. Really nice meal and nice not having to cook after a journey and setting our caravan up.
