Manchester Parking for Tram to centre

Booked to go into Manchester city centre via train. It's now a strike day. Don't want to drive into the city centre so parking near a tram stop feels like a good option. Anyone with any advice as to where to park? Will be travelling to Manchester from Liverpool, so wondered about tramline in from Eccles or maybe around Old Trafford? Any advice welcomed.

There is a Metrolink park & ride and the parkway metrolink park & ride near Eccles and Old Trafford. We've used the Parkway carpark. It's very handy for Manchester centre.

Sale water park possibly, there’s a big park and ride car park

Sorry to jump in, but where would be best to park and ride if I'm going to the Premier Inn on Princes St?

Please note that overnight parking is only allowed on Friday and I think Saturday nights at park and ride.
Coming from Manchester there is a new P&R carpark close to the Trafford centre, Sale Waterpark never seems over busy although I would be wary of overnight or coming back late / in the dark. East Didsbury has a fair amount of space and there is reasonably secure street parking close by. Navigation Rd is small but has Ok on unrestricted on street parking nearby.
Eccles is very small and gets very busy.
