Hi,
I'm just being really dense here but can't seem to think it through. We're going away in the UK next weekend (bank holiday, Fri-Mon) with our 1yo and our 4yo. It's out first holiday and I can't think how much stuff I will need for the kids. I don't think there's laundry available, they are for the most part toilet trained (1yo not entirely reliable) and we will be traveling via public transport. Somebody please help me work out what I need!

Will also be access to water play/swimming and seaside. Will be taking the pram so can put bits on there. Bedding provided but towels not.

Thank you!

Towels are really bulky, I’d invest in some of those pack light micro fibre ones which take up a handful of the space. I’d take a clean outfit per day for the kids, a hoody/ fleece or two and a jacket each, PJs and spare underwear. Check the weather forecast and hope you can manage with one pair of trainers / casual shoes each. If all else fails you can always hand wash things through.

Oh and beach shoes if you’re going to the beach!

5 outfits each for the kids, reuse the muddy, beach ones if need be. Swimming stuff, spare shoes, micro towels for kids, normal towel for you. Pjs. Don't forget your own clothes! And some sand toys.

Thank you! Just didn't have the brain space to work it out!

I would put the 1Y old into pull-ups for longer journeys to avoid accidents.

Micro towels are great, DD (teen) has them for years for camping and they dry fast and don't take away space.

One outfit per day for the children, 1-2 hoddies plus maybe a pack-away mac instead of a coat if the weather is ok-ish?

If it's a pebble/stone beach do take water shoes.

A tablet with some kiddy TV downloaded, some books and overpriced magazines for the journey. Headphones as well.
