SE London to Dorchester drive

Hi,

We are driving from SE London to near Dorchester next Monday with a 3 and 1 year old.

Bit too far to do in one go so looking for recommendations for a pit stop/run around/lunch.

take a picnic & stop at picket post , New Forest, or into Burley , couple of miles of A31 has coffee & ice cream shops & in New forest.

We tend to stop at Avon Heath country park. Lovely park area for kids, cafe, decent toilets, you can go for a longer walk outside the play area

Moors Valley is a great stop. You pay for parking but no entry fee.

If you can make it as far as Beaulieu, the playground and children’s facilities there are amazing https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/attractions/little-beaulieu/

Its only about 3 hours isn't it? I wouldn't bother stopping tbh but the new forest is probably your best bet
