Hiking pen y fan

I have an 18month old and hiking pen y fan was one of my husband’s and i’s favourite pass times. But we’ve never hiked it with a toddler, until today, and there wasn’t a lot of information out there. So I hoping that people in the same shoes find this helpful.
we took the family life back pack, even though she insisted on walking the first 30 mins and then around at the top, she also wouldn’t go back in it for the decent and it was a mixture of walking and being carried in mummies arms! We had lunch at the bottom, if you need directions there don’t type in pen y fan, type in the carpark name which is ‘Pont ar Daf Car Park’ after lunch we set off, it took us around 1hr 30mins to reach the top and a total of 2hrs 29mins to complete the whole thing, up and back down. This included a tantrum, a few stops for photos and a moment at the top. We took lots of baby snacks and a drink. And all in all it was a success.
