48 hours in London

As the title states, I've got 48 hours in London with my friend who hasn't been before (I'm not too familiar myself).

I just hoped people could recommend things to do: we would like to have some lovely meals, maybe a cocktail or two, see some of the main sights.
Do you think a hop on hop off might be a nice idea? We are staying in Southwark.. is it easy enough to walk around to see the sights?

Thanks in advance

What time of day are you arriving?

What sights do you fancy seeing?

We arrive at 11am and leaving the following day around 8pm. We think we want to see some of the main sights (st Paul's, Buckingham palace etc), maybe a show (possibly lion king?) and any other recommendations? Food and drink places would be appreciated as I'm clueless

You’re staying very near to Borough Market, which is lovely for a wander but also has some brilliant restaurants and cafes.
I definitely recommend catching a Thames Clipper at some stage for an alternative view of the sights.

I'd do
Lunch in Southwark... Hay's Galleria
Get boat from London Bridge City pier down to embankment or Waterloo pier.
Walk past big ben/houses of Parliament down to Buck Palace.
Back via Trafalgar Sq
Then have drinks in the bars round Waterloo and see something at Old Vic or Young Vic.

Thanks so much 🙏🏻
