Somewhere pretty to go for long weekend with parents?

Going away for long weekend with parents. Dad can’t walk too far as sore knees. Looking for somewhere pretty to mooch round, nice shops and craft shops. A nice bit of beach. A garden centre for tea and cake, nice cafes, that sort of thing. Devon Cornwall, Dorset anywhere really. Just want somewhere to fill up a few days and spend some time together. Thank you

Look at Teignmouth if you want Devon. I think it fits your brief. Parking not great and no chain hotels I don't think but depending on strikes you could go by train.

The Cotswolds (although no beach). Gorgeous little villages to walk around with plenty of tea shops and shopping. I took my DM there just over a year ago and she loved it, as did I - so much so DH are going there for a little weekend break next weekend!

Matlock Bath is pretty and has some lovely unique shops. You can hire mini 3-person motor boats, pedalos or rowing boats, plus there’s there’s a cable car at Heights of Abraham and Peak Rail steam train.

Sidmouth in Devon. Nice flat seafront for easy walks, and a sandy beach at low tide. High street with nice shops is just behind the seafront. Plenty of place for tea/ice cream. It's the perfect place for mooching. The Donkey Sanctuary is about 10 mins drive and makes an interesting trip.

Lyme Regis, Bridport, Charmouth and West Bay. All within about 10 miles of each other, lots of tea rooms, and the glorious Dorset coast!
Bridport has a wonderful market on Saturday and Wednesday. Lots of wonderful stalls with antiques, books, handmade local crafts. My Mum loved it!

Brixham in south Devon

Dartmouth so river rather than beach but lovely to sit and watch the boats, hop on a ferry etc. Tea shops, nice shops. It's lovely !
