Just wondering if anyone can recommend any hotels that aren't on site? Just looking to cut the cost a bit!
Thanks.

There's a premier Inn at Uttoxeter. That's pretty close.

We’ve stayed at Tythe Barn House bed and breakfast.

How far away do you want to be @ali23?

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 11/05/2023 21:31

There's a Travelodge at Trentham. You could do Trentham Gardens and Emma Bridgewater the next day Wink

Many years ago we stayed at a lovely guest house actually in Alton village I believe it was called something like The Bank House at that time you could actually walk from the village into the back of the park though I don`t expect you could do that now. We did enjoy staying there though the village is lovely and beautiful walks from the gh. As our children got older we used to drop them off for the day and go exploring.

The chained oak if you want close. Has the benefit of having the chained oak.

YHA Ilam Hall, beautiful place, very budget friendly. 10 minutes drive.

There’s loads of options in the surrounding villages, and a nearby Premier Inn and Travelodge. The dog and parrot is round the corner. Lots of air bnb options. I wouldn’t stay more than 10-20 mins out tbh if you’re doing more than 1 day in the park.

We always stay at Little Parks Holiday Homes in Tutbury. Fantastic value for money, the host is lovely. We've stayed a few times and going back again soon.

Depending on when you're going though, the hotels at Alton towers can work out not too bad though because the cost of entry is sometimes included. We've had some good offers in the past.

We stayed at the Ibis Budget in Derby. Much cheaper, but very basic. We literally used it as a bed to sleep in between the two days, which it provided along with breakfast! I'd happily do it again.
