Things to do in and around Dunoon

We have booked a week away in August in the Dunoon area. Just myself, DP and Ddog. Any suggestions for nice walks/ events/ places to eat / drink that are dog friendly?

Lots of fantastic scenic walks like Puck’s Glen, Bishop’s Glen and Benmore Botanic Garden (they have a lovely cafe there with an outside sitting area where dogs are welcome).
Other eateries - Holy Loch Inn in Sandbank, Villagers Royal in Innellan, The Lorne bar area (Dunoon town centre), Dunoon Burgh Hall cafe.

I can’t help with dog friendly eating suggestions but Puck’s Glen is one of my most favourite places in the world! You and your dog will enjoy a walk there.

The walk highlands website is your best option for walking routes.
benmore botanic gardens allows dogs in and has a decent cafe. There’s a couple of walking routes on that website from their car park.
we did a day trip to Bute on the ferry from Colintravie
dunoon itself is fairly quiet and the town centre looks a bit run down (doesn’t everywhere though!) but the surrounding countryside is lovely. Queen street fish &
chip shop was possibly the best chippy I’ve ever had (and don’t say that without some thorough research!)

A walk in Glen Branter.
