Hello! Hoping I can get some help from someone on here - I'm taking my lovely godmother to the ritz for her 70th birthday as a treat In the summer. We are going to stay over and I'd like to get a place with 2 bedrooms but a shared space. I'm also looking at 2 hotel rooms but prices are crazy! Does anyone have any recommendations or places you have stayed in the past that I can take inspiration from please?! Thanks in advance xx

Hi. London is scarily expensive isn't it? I was looking for something similar for when I go with my sister and niece.

Rather than two bedrooms could your relative have a bedroom and you sleep on a sofa bed in the living area?

I looked at Wilde Aparthotels and Residence Inn by Marriott, but they were no longer available for when I wanted to go, but look nice. They are still about £300-400 a night for a 1 bedroom apartment though.

With a lot of notice, there are Premier Inns all over London but the central ones sell out fast.

Copthorne Tara Kensington family rooms, they connect via a door altho usually one double and two singles but very nice vibes for the price (usually 70-118 booking and last minute and occasionally even on their website) spent 2 weeks there and been back many a time as I just love the location and service it’s a two min walk from High Street Kensington station very easy to find

Altho if wanting two doubles their double rooms wouldn’t be too much more for 2 than their family rooms and defo gives vibes of a lot more expensive than it is for cheaper than most travellodges I’ve seen in London now Grin really has got expensive nowadays

Thanks all - appreciate the recommendations. Still struggling to get it under £700 which is crazy for 1 night! But will keep searching! X

Where do you want to be location wise? And what date (general weekend if not the exact date)? Is there a big event on bumping it up?

The Tower (Guoman) usually comes in at a good price.

@PinkFootstool thank you - just checked and it's 2 nights stay minimum. Thank you for the suggestion.
We are going to the Ritz mid week in June - location as central as possible as my godmother has had her hips replaced so can't get around amazingly!
We can use the tube to get around and Ubers etc but just don't want to be miles and Miles away. I ideally want 2 bedroom place or somewhere with 2 cheap but not too basic rooms and just can't get over the cost of London accommodation.
With afternoon tea hotels and trains the trip is going to cost nearly £1000 for 24 hours!
I'm taking her as she has a really special birthday coming up and she's always wanted to go so really want to make it happen!

London is crazy now- its going to turn so many people off .We are a family of 4 ( kids 11 and 15) and we are considering a travellodge in wimbledon. Right beside the tube and a new hotel. Close to lovely restaurants. Central london is crazy. Might be far out for you but its a reasonable option

Have a look at the Luna and Simone hotel.

Also the Merit Kensington.

I've just put it through Booking.com for 1 night, 2 rooms with an adult in each for 13-14 June and there lots of options. I narrowed it by 4* reviews or higher and with suitable access for someone with a disability (usually excludes the grotty hostels). Then look at the map!
