Caravan/holiday parks in near Scarborough or Yorkshire in general?!

Hi does anyone have any recommendations for any caravan or holiday parks possibly near Scarborough ? It doesn’t have to have lots of amenities as thinking of using it more as a base to explore from.
I’ve said Scarborough as the coastline looks gorgeous but if anyone has recommendations of other places in Yorkshire they’ve stayed and loved then gratefully received. We’re a family of four - two DCs aged 8 and 10

We're going to skipsea sands in Yorkshire next week and it looks good, haven't been before so not sure yet but fingers crossed

I was just going to recommend Humblebee Farm too. The kids loved collecting the freshly laid eggs every morning.

That’s one I looked at as it seemed very reasonable prices. Hope you have a lovely trip and if you don’t mind reporting back that would be great 😁!

Thanks for the link for Humblebee farm too - definitely looks worth investigating. Did you camp or stay in one of the wigwams or yurts?

We had our own tent when we stayed there.

We stayed at haven primrose valley, very close to Filey and not far from Scarborough, Bridlington and a bit further out to Whitby. We really enjoyed it and found it a good location for getting around that area of Yorkshire.

Filey Brigg holiday Park. It's council run so nothing fancy but very clean and well organised.

Primrose Valley, Skipsea Sands or Barmston Beach.

CaptainMyCaptain · 12/04/2023 20:20

The last time I went to Skipsea it was difficult to get down to the beach because the road had fallen into the sea. This might have been fixed by now.

It depends what type of thing you're looking for - there are a few Haven sites (some more towards Filey) - Primrose Valley, Reighton Sands, Blue Dolphin. The Bay in Filey is a bit more "upmarket" (not that there's anything wrong with Haven, we're staying at RS ourselves this year!)

Thanks all - a few to look at. We're looking for something relatively cheap and cheerful as it's more just having a place to base ourselves but near places we can do days out to

Cayton bay is a fabulous little holiday park for families

Newtrix · 18/04/2023 21:21

I vote Cayton Bay to, the lodges are beautiful. We had days out to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Flamborough Head and Helmsley. Fabulous restaurant 3 min drive away called The Farrier.
