We have booked a cottage for the last week of July. Can anyone recommend must see places to visit and anywhere worth eating at.

Portree is stunning to visit and have a walk about. There are good places to eat also. The fairy pools is a great walk and lovely to see.

Classics would be:
Sligachan Bridge
Fairy Pools - wild swimming if you're brave enough
Old Man of Storr
Quiraing
Kilt Rock
Neist point
Coral Beach
Portree harbour
Fairies Glen
Talisker Distillery
Museum of Island Life
Lots of nice small art studios etc

Not on Skye but also worth considering are Eilean Donan on your way over if you're arriving via the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh, or the Glenfinnan Viaduct if you're arriving via the Mallaig ferry.

Best advice we were given was to book restaurants for dinner before you arrive as they all book up days in advance - don't expect to walk in anywhere and get a table at that time of year.

Have a great time, it's stunning but expect random weather - I was glad of my wooly hat in August!
