Suggestions needed - overnight stay somewhere.

Hi all,

Got a birthday coming up and was looking at a midweek overnight stay during Easter half term for myself and daughter (good shopping required).

Needs to be train travel from Birmingham New Street.

Not Liverpool or London as done them - I just can't think where to go!

Any suggestions out there?

I think chester is pretty shocking these days for shopping.

If you can afford it Oxford has the malmaison hotel;I've been there and paid the extra for a room in the main block.

I vote York it's stunning and fab for shopping, eating and drinking! (Gin in particular!)

I don't think you can ever have 'done' London, so I'd choose there. Otherwise, maybe Manchester or Liverpool.

Bath?

Yourk wouldn't be my choice for shopping. I'd go for Leeds or Newcastle

Manchester (with the option of the Trafford centre for shopping)
