Alton or Chessington for October half term?

My child will have just started year 7 then.

Alton Towers for that age

If they like roller coasters I would say Alton towers. They will be able to go on a lot of the big rides.

Alton towers. But be warned queues are long in October.

Do they do fast track?

I’m in Devon - 6 hours away by train so will stay over night in Bristol then go to Alton towers the next day as that only a hour and a half away.

Not sure if I should stay at splash landings and do the water park is that a whole day thing or just a few hours?

That age Alton towers. Chessington for younger ones

If you're going in October and can afford it do the platinum fast pass. It's £110 per person, but is unlimited goes on all the big rides. And as the park is open until 9pm it means you can do the rides in the dark too.

I always do platinum fast pass as a treat in October half term, they do other fast passes too. But they're one ride each. :)

Hi we have been to both a lot (having a Merlin helps) so here goes.
Chessington is good but currently only 2 rollercoasters although jumangi world opening soon,
Alton towers so much bigger with plenty of roller coasters.
chessington you could do in a day but would recommend two. It has two hotels attached to it. You have the zoo and sealift too.
Alton towers has hotels inc splash landings and glamping pods. You would def need 2 days in park. Splash landings water park is good could easily spend half day in there. crazy golf too.
Both places offer fast track.

I'd stay at the water park. Do the full day until 9pm with fast passes and then do the waterpark the next day.
