Center Parcs Whinfell Forest Cumbria

We have just returned from a week here. I love coming to Whinfell - I have dogs and would not holiday without them so it is a perfect scenario for us. This last week however was spoiled for me by constant traffic within the park
We are not allowed to use our cars. We know this and would not want to. They have to be parked away from the lodges in a car park for the duration of the stay. This is fine. We hire the bikes and we walk.
This time we were having to constantly move out of the way of vans and trucks and diggers and wagons. There were rangers in their buggies, cleaning vans, security vans - it seemed to me far more than ever before and then all these other vehicles on top of that. It really did seem to be unreasonable especially given the ethos of the place with its low noise and clean air - not so much.
One morning I looked out of the window and saw a convoy of heavy vehicles going past - at least six of them. This was not what I expected or paid for. When I come here I want peace. It's what they promise after all !

Did you not complain at the time? Last time we went it was a free holiday as the time before we had mice in the cabin! They tried to say we should expect Forest Creatures!
I feel you should have been informed if construction work was being carried out during your visit

Yes, this is what I thought - we should have been informed about all the construction work. I think I will write to them. There was also another issue with our lodge which I will not mention yet as I don't want to shoot myself in the foot here; but after I have spoken to Centerparcs I will report the issue as I feel it is important
