London Zoo day trip

We're off to London Zoo next week. We want to go to the zoo and then out for dinner somewhere afterwards.

I can't work out parking. I've found contradicting information that says you can park at London zoo and stay out of hours vs you need to leave when they close.

Does anyone have experience of the car staying parked after hours? If we can't we'll just park somewhere else.

Children are 4-12 so we're looking for a child friendly restaurant. Hoping someone might have a recommendation please.

make sure you book tickets online before you go - there have been other threads where posters describe travelling a long way and being turned away when they arrive

We are nowhere near London so can't help with food or parking but I've heard they are doing £3 tickets for people on certain benefits, if that helps 🙂

We've got tickets already, I'm just struggling with the logistics.

We’ve done this. Make sure you get to the zoo early as the car park is tiny because it’s been taken over by HS2. We went in October half term and it was full by 10.30. If you get a space you’re fine to stay after closing, we left at 10pm after going out for dinner etc and try w barrier was open as you pay on entry. Loads of places to eat in Camden, just a short walk from the zoo.
