I have decided after advice from people on this site. To stay over one night before we visit Harry Potter. I need to find a suitable hotel which isnt as easy as you would think. 2 adults, 2 big teen boys 16 and 13.
Already rejected Premier Inn as cant guarantee connecting rooms and also the twin rooms are not real twin rooms. Its one double and a sofa bed.
Looked at Hilton as guarantee connecting, twin room and double. But reviews are not good.
Maybe think about Holiday in in Hemel as have proper twin rooms or maybe Hunton park as again have decent twin rooms.
I would prefer connecting rooms but if not 2 lots of twin rooms with son/adult in each. Also needs decent parking.
Any suggestions will be welcome.

We stayed at Jury's Inn (now Leonardo but same group of companies I think) when we visited. 2 adults and 3 teens/tweens. Had connecting rooms. Was lovely.

We stayed at Hunton park - just a short drive away

Was it ok, reviews are mixed. Dont want perfection, just clean and decent breakfast

Why do you need connecting rooms with a 13 and 16 year old?

Yeah, from what I remember it was fine - nice and clean.

Because my 16 year old and 13 year old fight like cat and dog so I wouldnt be comfortable with them in a room on their own. I d rather share a room with the youngest and my OH share room with eldest.

I would do exactly that, on adult and one child in each room in the premier inn.

I looked at premier inn but their "twin" room are a double bed and a sofa bed, which from what I have read is very hard and uncomfortable. I want proper twin beds if possible.

Ah, no we didn't drive. We were on the train in from London. It's a straight line walk from the station (which is where the wb shuttle bus picks up and drops off too). Can't help with parking ideas unfortunately

Totally missed the part where you said about parking!

Probablynamechangefail · 02/03/2023 18:27

If it's not a huge problem, reviews for the Leonardo have said the hotel gives (gave?) discount at a nearby carpark run by citipark. A few mins walk apparently

If money is no object, stay at The Grove. It's 5 minutes from Harry Potter and has lovely grounds and leisure facilities.

Also good for celeb spotting if that's your thing.

hotmilkytea · 02/03/2023 22:10

The Grove of course if budget unlimited 😆

Would this place fit the bill: www.rickyroadguesthouse.co.uk/
Never been inside there but driven past it loads. An easy drive to the studios...
