Birmingham to Matlock breakfast stop

Hi,
We’re driving from Solihull to Matlock on Saturday morning. Planning to stop for breakfast maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the way there. The most obvious route seems to be M42-A42-M1, but alternatively M6 toll -A38, which may make more sense if we want to avoid service stations (I don’t mind paying tolls)
If we take the A38 option, is there anywhere Derby-ish that’s good for a breakfast stop pls? Preferably somewhere like a nice garden centre/farm shop where we can park outside
Thanks in advance 😊

Hackwood Farm, Radbourne, nr Derby is not far off the A38. I've only been there for lunch, the food is great. It's very popular so likely busy on a Saturday morning.

I do that journey plenty, but dont really stop so im not a great help! I find M42/M1 more straightforward but I dont think there's much difference in going on the A38. I've not been myself but the Derby garden centre is about 30 seconds off your route if you do go A38 www.bluediamond.gg/garden-centre/derby-garden-centre

I also drive that route fairly often and also wouldn't stop. There's loads of nice places to eat in and around Matlock. However you could stop off at little Eaton garden centre, or at duffield or Belper at one of the many cafes there. I can highly recommend Nourish 44 in Belper. There's some cafes in cromford also.

Whoops posted too soon. Avoid the m42. A38 and m6 toll is the easiest altho I doubt you'll need the toll on a Saturday.

Probably not on your direct route, however I cannot recommend Carriages Bar and Restaurant in Newhaven enough. If you go through Ashbourne it's about 20 minutes away from Matlock and well worth the slight detour in the Peak District

Thanks all, I’ll look those up 😊
