Hi, we're driving from Somerset up to Bedfordshire (M3/M25) this weekend - it should be a 3-hour trip if we are lucky, but I think 3 hours in the car would be too long for my very energetic 3-year-old! Apart from running about at motorway services, does anyone know of any good places to have a break - even if slightly off the beaten track (eg, farms, nice parks, softplays etc)

Thanks

Marwell Zoo is just off the M3 just before Winchester. That's a good place.

Not sure if it is open yet but....Finkley Down Farm nr Andover and there is also a Hawk Conservancy which is sign posted from the A303.
If you google - The Look Out, Bracknell - that is just off Junction3 of the M3 and is a big forest, has a huge play ground, cafe as well as a mini-science museum inside. You can park for free there too.

Thanks for the ideas

I'll look up Marwell Zoo and the Lookout. Finckley Down is closed until the weekend after unfortunately! Plus there is another place - Charlie Something's Farm-or-Whatever, but their website didn't say what times they were open.
