My DS will be turning 6 in March and he has said he really wants to go to London and stay over night rather than having a party with his friends.
Neither me or DH have been to London properly so wouldn't have a clue where to start and how much this would cost.
We would need to get the train there & back, stay over night (if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere central but cheap/cheerful). He has said he would like to do the London eye and see Big Ben, I'd like to do the natural history museum, would also need to factor in meals etc during the day/evening.
Please let me know any tips, recommendations. Thank you in advance! X

Try Premier Inn. They have several central hotels and are consistently very good value for money, especially for weekend stays as most hotels tend to up their prices on Fridays and Saturdays. We’ve found that the ones in the City (including Farringdon and Blackfriars) are really quiet and cheap at the weekends. We’ve also had good stays at a couple of their Southwark hotels.

Buy your train tickets as far in advance as you can. You can get 2 for 1 on the London Eye if you’re travelling by train www.daysoutguide.co.uk/london-eye
