Where to go in February

EasyJet have cancelled our flights to Krakow so we now have 3rd to 7th February off with nowhere to go.

Lots going on so we thought about going somewhere in the UK.

We are outside Manchester. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to go that won't be awful in February?

We don't mind a bit of a drive, maybe 3 or 4 hours.

Thank you.

The northern tip of the Cotswolds. You’d be within easy driving distance of lots of good indoor day trips if the weather is wet - Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and the museums/houses etc.. at Stratford Upon Avon. If the weather’s bright and crisp, there are lots of nice country walks and local pubs with open fireplaces.

That is a good thought. I've never been to Warwick Castle. Thank you

I'd go to London. If the weather is good it's a bonus. Or Edinburgh....they cope with bad weather well...

Thanks. I was wondering about Edinburgh. I'd need to find out things to do there.

We went to London last February half term due to our planned holiday being cancelled due to the storms. Had a great time- always something to do in London!

I agree about London. I'm going there in April with my sister.

Edinburgh. I was there last February and while cold it was very sunny. Book a day tour with Rabbies to see the Kelpies / Stirling Castle/ Loch Lomond (one tour does all three).

Loads to do in Edinburgh it's self too.

Thanks. I think we will try Edinburgh. DH went there for work and liked it.

Mary kings close is great. The pub/ghost tours are good fun too. Walk up Carlton hill. The botanic gardens. The royal yacht Britannia was quite fascinating surprisingly as I’m no royalist. There’s some fantastic places to eat.

There’s loads to do in Edinburgh but it’s more than 3-4 hours drive (maybe 4hrs of driving without breaks) and parking in the city is a nightmare so you’d be best to go by train.

Llandudno?

Thank you everyone. I think we will go to Edinburgh. There are a few nice apartments on Booking.Com with parking.

In terms of area, is anywhere sketchy? I'm looking at New Town and West End.
