Lake District Pre Christmas Break - Xmas activities?

With not knowing the area very well and being short on time I'm struggling to find Christmas activities within driving distance of Keswick, help please!

Apart from the theatre shows, is there any Christmas adventure/Meet Santa experiences or Ice Skating, Christmas Fairs etc?

There's some nice walking and cycling trails at Whinlatter, 5 mins from Keswick.
