After our existing plans have fallen through we now have a day in central London with our two kids (12&10) this week. We don’t live locally but we’ve visited London a lot over the years and feel like we’ve ticked off most the major land marks over that time so it would be lovely to have some specific suggestions for really Christmassy things to do. We don’t have lots of spare money at the moment so unfortunately ruling out any big expensive sight-seeing options! It feels like the children are at a slightly awkward age- too old for ‘little kid’ activities but still too young to appreciate the shopping so if anyone has any thoughts or inside knowledge. I think DH and I would just be happy to potter about all day and take in the lights and atmosphere but I have a feel the DC won’t appreciate it as much as we will!
Thank you!!

Just been, Christmas market trafalgar square, Leicester Square, although they are mainly expensive food stalls. We ended up eating behind qe festival hall.
Didn't go to winter wonderland Hyde park, too expensive.
We did walk around regent Street and visited Hamleys
