where to stay on the Isle of Man?

I have family in douglas but want to stay either in nice hotel or rent a cottage. Wy are going for May Bank Holiday.

Has anyone stayed there or can you recommend somewhere?

You definitely ought to stay in Douglas itself. There's a lovely hotel on the sea front. I'm sorry, it was 12 years ago when I went, but on the ground floor, they have a lounge with hundreds of books lining the walls.

If you can afford a hotel, I'd go for that option. It rains a lot on the Isle of Man. Of course, you might drop very lucky, but I'd opt for the warm room and cooked breakfast approach
