Activities for DC (10&7) easy access from Hammersmith

We're staying in Hammersmith and have a few hours to explore / do something fun next Saturday. Im running a half marathon on Sun so don't want to just be walking aimlessly!

Due to train strikes we are driving to Rayners Lane so will have a looong tube ride into Hammersmith so don't want too much extra if we can help it.

Considering Imperial War Museum but looks like a bit of a faff to get to changing tubes etc. so wondering if there's anywhere that's easier to get to??

Would it be easier to go to Embankment for the London Eye maybe??

It’s about 15 min tube ride to South Kensington (with no changes) where there’s the science museum and NHM. I wouldn’t suggest doing both museums though. The Wonderlab at the Science Museum is excellent.
Alternatively, take the tube up to Shepherd’s Bush Market. From there it’s not much of a walk to Puttshack (crazy golf), the upside down house and Kidzania.
