Chessington at 3 months pregnant

We’ll be going to Chessington World of Adventures in December for the Santa sleepover with DS.

I’ll be 3 months pregnant then. I’ve had a look at the site and it says the Gruffalo ride isn’t suitable for expectant mothers.

Has anyone been on it who could let me know why this may be unsafe?

It seems to be a tranquil river ride through the story but not sure if there are drops or fast bits. I wondered if it was the embarking/disembarking from the moving raft that could pose a problem for those further along/with bigger bumps?

I’d love to go on it but also don’t want to disregard sensible advice.

Is the gruffalo ride what used to be processor burps? If so, it's very gentle!!

It is indeed.

It's a water ride and the floor can be a bit slippery if there are lots of people exiting the ride. The ride itself is gentle on the whole but again, water does get into the footwell and getting in and out with a "bump" might be a bit unsafe.

From my experience, all rides at these sort of parks are classed as unsuitable for expectant mothers. If you're really lucky, you still have to pay full price to watch others ride though.

I presume it's to prevent them being sued by women who later happen to miscarry or have health issues unrelated to riding even a tamer ride.

Yes it is due to climbing in and out. I stopped going in when around 24 weeks with DS as the climbing in and out was difficult. We had an annual pass and I spent ages waiting in the shop for them!

Thanks all.
Seems like there’s no crazy bumps or drops then.
I think I’ll wait and see how I feel on the day but it’ll probably be one I can go on (bump size and balance depending!).
I might send DH and DS around first as guinea pigs!
