Malvern - lovely places to eat/drink/potter/explore?

Afternoon all

We're off to Malvern over October half term and would love some recommendations for any where to eat/drink/explore.

We're staying in a house in Great Malvern close to Church Street and it's myself, DH and DD age 14. We enjoy a lovely walk everyday and prefer not to drive if possible (like to dump the car and leave it) but happy to use it for a couple of days out tops if destination isn't far and has good parking.

We love most food, coffee and cake stops and I love it on holiday when we find somewhere we can stop of for good wine by the glass on our walk home and chat about our lovely day/plan the next one while DD inevitably stares at her phone Confused Ideally lovely places that don't cost the earth!

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I love it so much that it will be very hard to shut me up. This is only the very first thoughts

obviously there are so many hill walks, you could start somewhere different every day for a month and not be bored.

Because a lot of the shops/ bars etc are independent they managed to weather the Covid storm and come back stronger. There are sometimes craft/food fairs in the Abbey if that’s your thing.

Further afield, Ledbury (you can go on the train) is like something out of a Miss Marple novel, great for pottering and browsing, and very often arty exhibitions on.

Worcester is steeped in history, cathedral, battles, museums and a gold library.

seriously…good choice!

Plus, if you want to cuddle a dog or two, let me know.

Thanks so much! An excellent start! Like the sound of train days out, we quite like that.

I'm intrigued regards the dogs Grin funnily enough we're currently searching for a rescue boy or girl (have been for over a year) but have paused the search as this holiday isn't dog friendly.

But yes please keep any recommendations coming!

You will find some wonderful treasures in Iapetus gallery in Malvern. It's a little drive but for amazing lunches or coffee and cake in the most stunning setting, try Barton Court, Colwall. Have a fantastic stay!
