Stanstead airport drop off multiple entries

I need to drop my husband off at stanstead tomorrow and then pick him back up again maybe 20-30 mins later. When I’ve checked the drop off it’s saying it’s £7 per time you enter BUT that if you enter twice in within a one hour period you have to pay £7 x 2 plus a £30 fee. Is this correct? What other options are there? I don’t really know much about the official car parks are they too far to walk or is it not too bad?

Is there not a short term car park? Most airports have one.

Theapple213 · 30/08/2022 22:12

There is one but for some reason it is saying on the website £66 for 1 hour of parking. I think we will just turn up and see what the cost is.

You can stay for an hour in short term (orange car park is by far the closest to terminal, blue is a bit further to walk, still less than 10 mins) for £18 (or £22 for two hours).
Or in mid-stay you can have an hour for free, or two hours for a fiver but the person going to the terminal would need to hop on a shuttle bus. I think the £30 fee you refer to relates to this carpark, not to the "drop and run" option.

It's not. I've been there today to meet someone. I turned up with no booking, parked in Blue for just short of 1 hour and paid £18 on departure. The pre-booking thing is more for people who want to leave their car while they fly off somewhere.

How confusing! The website clearly says it's cheaper to pre book Hmm - anyway glad it's not so much of a rip off!

Theapple213 · 01/09/2022 10:02

@bestbefore thats the issue it makes out its cheaper to pre book online its so confusing. But yes it cost us £18 for 35 mins. In orange car park. So expensive 🫣

Mid stay car park has a one hour free waiting area- perhaps he could get the free transfer bus from there and then you pick him up after outside and pay the £7?

@Theapple213 Am looking into this too as have to drop someone off this week. Very confused!

What did you end up doing please?
