Could I enjoy a day out in Stoke?!!

I want to meet my friends half way between Manchester and Birmingham and Stoke appears to be half way on the train map.
What could we do for a few hours in walking distance from the train station?
Are there any lovely restaurants?

No. Really. Stoke has nothing - it's not really the main town in Stoke on Trent, Hanley is but I'm not sure of anywhere really nice there either.

There's not really anything apart from the university (and loads of studenty pubs) within walking distance of the station. But you could get a taxi to Trentham Monkey Park. Would only be a few pounds to get there from the station.

Was just assuming you had kids - not really something you would do with just adult friends!!
