Solo travel with 4 Dc

I am hoping someone can offer some inspiration…. 4Dc under 8 and happy to travel solo by myself as DH is working. Often camp during the summer by myself with the kids but would like options for the Autumn/feb half terms for hotels or other options so we can get out and see/do stuff. Hotels allow 1 adult to 2 dc which is limiting, any ideas? TIA

Boggle Hole www.yha.org.uk/hostel/yha-boggle-hole
or Hartington Hall www.yha.org.uk/hostel/yha-hartington-hall - both have rooms than sleep 5 or 6

Agree with the suggestion for YHA and a private room to yourselves. Even if you end up paying for a bed or two to be empty they're still very affordable and solve the ratio of adults to kids in a hotel problem. A lot of big cities have one.....York and Edinburgh are great for kids that age.

We use air bnb a lot when we travel as we have 3 kids. Loads and loads of options on there and sometimes you can get quite special places relatively cheaply.

Also came on to recommend YHA - it's my most recommended holiday to single parents.

National forest is our favourite - "conkers" next door is a really cheap but fantastic day out that my kids utterly adore. Definitely consider YHA!
