Christmas minibreak (England)

Looking for ideas for a minibreak in England for two nights. We have two children and I am looking for a country hotel/boutique hotel with a nice restaurant (or nearby) and some Christmas activities nearby. Was thinking of booking somewhere near Waddesdon Manor and then spending a day there (Christmas market, light show etc). Not a city break!

Thanks so much

We’ve done Longleat , Bath and Kingston Lacy as a pre Christmas break a couple of times , it’s a nice variety of things to do .

Stratford Upon Avon?

You could see what Christmassy activities local National Trust places are advertising?

I want to find a nice country Hotel first and then see what’s nearby.

for example I like the idea of Waddesdon Manor (amazing Christmas activities and lights) but can’t find a nice country Hotel less than an hour away. One is very close but full every Saturday in December!

i would consider Cotswolds, is it nice in December?
