Mine had grown out of it by about 12.

I went as a group of 18 (boys and girls) year olds in 1996. I remember enjoying it, but then we were on our 1st parent free holiday. We were a wild lot going camping on the Isle of Wight.

Primary school age children

I would agree, 12 and under. It is a nice place to wander around though. Lovely views of the sea.

Under 12 or over 20 when you can appreciate how brilliantly kitsch it is

Mine loved it aged 4 and 6. Perfect age for them with animatronic dinosaurs, fairytale land, pirate ship play area etc. There’s only a couple of rides for older kids so I’d say it’s for up to 8 or 9, particularly if they’ve been to bigger theme parks? I heard Robin Hill is good for older ones.

Primary age and Robin Hill for a bit older. You can get cheaper entry if you buy tickets for both at the same time ifyswim.

Blackgang was closed yesterday after a ride broke down. No injuries, it just stopped working with people on it but must have been alarming. Not heard of that happening before recently, mind you.

My just turned 11 year old had a residential trip there with school before the end of term and It was a hit with his year group. Robin Hill went down a treat too.

We went recently with an 8 and 4yo. We went last year and they enjoyed it so much they wanted to go back again! I prefer Robin Hill, personally, but BGC is fun as well. My two adore the slides, maze, hall of mirrors, dinosaur tour, and the new pirate ride. DD also went on the rollercoaster with DH but she said it was too scary for her! DS' favourite bit is the dodos but his best one (popping out of the cake) wasn't working and he was very upset.

Other than that, they had a great time!

This is really helpful.
Thanks
