Recommendation for the late august bank holiday

Hi need recommendations for the summer bank holiday coming up. Prefer somewhere beachy and within 3 hrs of the midlands. Was drawn towards Tenby but am thinking May be too far. Will be a mix of adults teens and preteens so need something for everyone but beach is what everyone agree on.
Any self catering recommendation please.

North Wales has great places, tranquil or Fish, Chips and Bingo and everything in between.
Having just had a great break on the Llyn Peninsular I had forgotten how nice it is, we stayed in Abersoch.
Loads of beaches to suit all tastes.
Harlech is massive and looks Tropical
Barmouth is great but very busy and often difficult to park so go early
Abersoch is great and has a dog friendly section
Criccieth is Tranquil
Llanbedrog is great with a nice Cafe on it.
Some ideas here

One thing I would say is if you are going to eat out its best to book.
Harlech

Thank you. Will have a look. We have been to Llandudno a few times and always enjoyed it there.

Llandudno is great as a base so much to see and do nearby
Copper Mines
Marine drive Toll road
Great Orm but dont forget the Little Orm to see the seals at Angel bay
Now if by some remote chance the two Llandudno beaches are busy this short drive away is an even better beach, has toilets and an Ice Cream man but nothing else
