Where can we go for bank holiday weekend with 4 year old?

We want to go away for bank holiday in the UK, but not sure where. Anyone recommend anything?

Where are you starting from and how far do you want to travel? Driving or public transport??
hotel, self catering? City, beach, countryside??

How far north are you? It’s not a bank holiday in Scotland and the schools will have gone back by then so won’t be as busy.

I live in Yorkshire. Can travel anywhere that is a max 3 hours drive. Want to stay Friday to Monday ideally.
