New forest best places to park

I'm going to be staying in milford in a few weeks, we want to go for a walk in the forest and see ponies and maybe a deer. Can anyone recommend best parts of the new forest to have a great foresty walk with good chances to come across ponies? (I know you can see them everywhere but specifically want to walk in the forest and see them.)

Park up at the beginning of White Moor, just outside Brockenhurst. You can walk in any direction from there and be guaranteed ponies, foals, cattle and probably donkeys either there or en route as you drive through Brockenhurst.

We like cycling through the wooded forest from there to The Oak at Bank which is archetypal forest and pub combined into one. You’ll probably see deer through here.

Great tip - pick up your lunch at The Bakehouse in Brockenhurst beforehand to get an instant picnic!! Their meal deals are a sight to behold!! Best donuts in the world!! And the chocolate eclairs are amazing!!
