Butlins Charging £20 admin fee and then further £10 for cot hire?

Am I missing something here? Has anyone else has this experience with butlins? It’s making me want to cancel our trip altogether.

They are charging me a £20 (!!) admin fee to add a cot onto my booking? I am not changing the booking in anyway, no room change or guest change- we are just adding an essential item?

Am I getting font used? So this is now £30 in total just to need a cot?

I think that is outrageous personally. You could buy a nice new one for less.

Is it possible they have just got the name wrong and the £20 is a deposit?

we’re off to Haven later this month and they’ve added £10 deposit on top of the bed guard hire cost (didn’t tell me about that but saw it when I went to pay the balance 😐)

Sorry for the typos! Im
pretty mad. I just ended up putting the phone down to a very rude customer service representative who is apparently 'bound' by the terms and conditions..... !! I said I feel like cancelling my booking altogether and was told 'so you will lose your deposit for a cot'? And I said yes and actually you will be losing a lot more than my £60 deposit as I won't be paying the £1k booking for 4 nights..!

We are going away as a family with other members so it's not something I can cancel and would let other members of the family down. I just can't believe they can get away with it as a resort that is supposed to be 'child friendly' they are not flexible at all and this is just another way to make money. Times are tough as it is Sad

They are charging £20 to add any extras onto my booking- even though they are already charging me £10 so that's £30! We do have one we can take but it's too big to fit in the car and this would have been easier for us but nothing is ever simple. We are new parents and nervous as it is to sleep away from home.

I told them exactly that but just got a rude back chatty response!! Not a good impression for someone who has never gone to butlins before.
