Going in a couple of weeks. Staying inland between Aldeburgh and Southwold. Family of 4. Kids aged 6 and 3. Any tips on fun things to see and do? We’re there for a week.

Boating lake at Thorpeness
Crabbing at Walberswick
Africa Alive
Minsmere nature reserve has some great walks, play area, cafe and summer holiday activities in the Discovery Centre
Southwold Maize Maze
Framingham Castle
Children’s boat trip at Orford orfordboattrips.co.uk/new-page
Also have a look at Thorington Theatre and Southwold Arts Centre as I know there are some family-friendly shows on this summer.

My first thought was the boating Lake at Thorpeness too. There's also the House in the clouds there. In nice weather there are lots of beaches nearby. Also: Sutton Hoo &
Jimmy's Farm.

If you like seafood, I would really recommend the Sole Bay Fish Company for lunch, if you want to sit in the restaurant make sure you book, otherwise there are benches outside for takeaway. There is a really sweet little ferry service that crosses the harbour from outside the restaurant to Walberswick and back for a few pounds.

Go to Walberswick and then get the foot ferry to Southwold.

This is where the lack of Advanced Search is SOOOOOOOO annoying. There was an excellent thread on this specific subject a few months ago with loads of recommendations, which I would have been happy to look for and link for you OP.

Thank you for all the tips. We did and enjoyed:

Crabbing and beach at Walberswick
Southwold for pier and fish and chips
Saw a children’s play at Framlingham castle whilst the sun set
Thorpeness for boating and throwing stones in the sea
Aldeburgh during the carnival
Sutton Hoo
Snape Maltings
Jimmy’s Farm (on way home)
rendlesham forest
Minsmere
Leiston cinema (wet afternoon)

Also made use of Friday Street Farm Shop and ate too much Suffolk Meadows ice cream. Really enjoyed visiting this part of the country!
