Day trip recommendations - north east Wales

Can anyone give me recommendations for day trips please. Looking for either walks, views or somewhere to just potter and get lunch.

Give me a idea of which bit of North East Wales

The Welsh Mountain zoo is a good day out, although it is very hilly as the name suggests so make sure you've got good walking shoes on.

Chirk Castle

Have to admit it was years ago, but we stayed in Llangollen and liked it there.

Erddig Hall, Chirk Castle, Loggerheads, Mold, Chester, National Waterways Museum Ellesmere Port, Port Sunlight.

Bodnant Gardens is beautiful but north rather than north east.
