Dog friendly places - Isle of wight - Shanklin

Hi,

We will soon be spending 2 weeks on a caravan park in Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Two adults, 2 DC (9 and 12). And one big 1 year old labrador.

Does anybody know the area well?

I am looking for reccomendations where we can take the dog. In particular dog friendly beaches and parks where we can let him off the lead for a burn-out.

If anybody also has any recommendations for dog friendly cafes and beer gardens that would be brilliant.

Thankyou

Shanklin Chine is dog friendly and lit up at night if you fancy a stroll after dinner.
Luccombe is a completely hidden gem of a beach. There are no facilities whatsoever – enjoy the peace and quiet! Access has been a bit tricky recently, so flip flops might not be the best choice.
To the east of the pier at Ryde there is a massive golden sandy beach for dogs. It’s nice and close to the town centre and there are some amazing views.
We love the Red Squirrel Trail which is mainly traffic-free. The Star Inn in Wroxall and The Spyglass Inn in Ventnor and two great dog friendly pubs.
