We’re away in the summer to the New Forest and would love to book a nice pub for traditional Sunday roast. We’ll have our dog with us too. Any recommendations please?

Can't help sorry but following with interest as we're doing the same.

Depending on where in the New Forest you are, The White Buck in Burley is my favourite place when I go to visit my family. I haven't had a Sunday roast there, but all their other food has always been amazing. They also let dogs in to the bar and outside area (not the restaurant) and occasionally have Shakespeare plays outside in the grounds.

The staff are lovely and friendly. The variety of drinks is great too, some lovely unusual spirits. Oh and the portions are generous. If you like scotch eggs, they do one with a duck egg which is 🤤🤤🤤

After writing this, I might need to arrange a family visit so I can go there again.

I’m a non meat eater so maybe not the best person for advice, but here’s a couple of places I regularly eat at that are decent and seem popular for roasts. High corner inn towards the Ringwood side, and also the Hare and Hounds in Sway for more central. Both these are always busy so that probably counts for something.

The Walhampton Arms in Lyndhurst

My mistake, the Walhampton Arms is in Lymington. It’s still brilliant though!

Where are you going? We had a great meal at The Bold Forester which isn't far from Beaulieu or Lyndhurst.

We’re staying near Brockenhurst but we’re happy to travel. Thanks everyone, there are some lovely suggestions.

The Trusty Servant in Minstead. Very dog friendly, nice walks and right next the the cemetery where Arthur Conan Doyle is buried - the grave is well worth the wander. (Are you going riding? Ford farm stables in brockenhurst are great).
