Just booked a week in the Lake District, Ambleside.
Any suggestions for things to do, places to visit, good pubs / restaurants?
Thanks

I'd recommend-
.A walk up Loughrigg..
.A circular walk from Elterwater taking in Cathedral caves.
.Some lake time whether it be a self drive boat or boat trip on Windermere (or Coniston.)
.if you have kids Brockhole is good for tree top bouncing and adventure playground.
.Grizedale Forest has sculptures and Go Ape and mountain biking tracks.
.Another great thing for little ones is combing Windermere boat trip with steam train ride at Haverthwaite and the Lakes aquarium.
.You could drive up the Struggle out of Ambleside and down the Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater and take afternoon tea at the Inn on the Lake in Glenridding and just a little.bit further along the lake gets you to Aira Force waterfall.
. Visit Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter's house.
.Grasmere gingerbread has to be done.
. The Drunken Duck at Barngates always used to be gorgeous for food.
. Have a spa afternoon at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere
