Bedruthan Hotel - any recent feedback

(I had posted this on an old thread but just realised it was in the wrong place (non U.K. travel)….)

I am thinking of booking a 4 or 5 night break at Bedruthan hotel this summer. However we've never been and I'm a little worried by some of the awful reviews from last summer. Has anyone got recent experience/knowledge?
My kids are aged 8 and 14 so I don't need the creche not even the kids club etc, I'm attracted by the proximity to the beach and (hopefully) surfing, plus swimming pools. Although I didn't realise the outdoor pool isn't heated..! Does anyone ever even use it?
Really keen to hear any feedback, good or bad.
Thanks

There's quite a few from this year on Trip Advisor

Thanks! They do seem a bit more positive.

Do you have children?
There is NO childcare now at all and that used to be their USP. Softplay when in action is an extra fee.

Just read your post, sorry, rushing.

They let our friends down last year. Packed and loaded in the vehicle by all accounts and got a call to advise of staff shortage.

Steep rocky walk to the beach from the hotel and a bungalow has been knocked down & being re-built into a new dwelling on the Scarlet site. The Scarlet is immediately below so you may get the noise.

Bedruthan itself: looks dodgy upon arrival and you will need a seaview room.

Thanks Soooonotoverit

I didn’t book in the end as the breakfast is just pastries/cereal and as one of us is a diabetic that is totally unsuitable and we would end up having to go out for breakfast, sort of defeats the purpose. I’m sure it was necessary during Covid but now I don’t understand why it is still the case.
