If you have been is it worth paying the extra to have the VR headset or is the standard ticket good enough ?

Hoping to go with DH, TIA

Hi there, we have been, went in on standard ticket and didn't use the VR headset and felt the exhibition was amazing as it was. Guess if it's not too expensive, could be a good add on? Might bring it alive some more.

I went to the one in Leicester. The VR headset bit was at the end, was only a few pounds extra but I felt was definitely worth paying extra for. It really felt like walking through a landscape of his paintings.

I didn’t know there was a VR headset!
Agree with @MumzeeSaz that the experience is wonderful without.

I didn’t do the VR as I didn’t know about it until I got there and it was too expensive on top of what I’d already paid. I thought it was a ripoff and very poor value for money. It’s essentially pictures of the pictures in a room, you can then do some colouring….. the immersive experience is one room at the end, sitting on a deck chair-it made me feel sea sick… I definitely wouldn’t recommend it at all.
