Re booked to go to Jersey with easyjet and worrying as end of july.
Flt is still really low price ie 56 return no luggage or 90 ish with luggage etc .
There are 4 flts a day .I have the first one out and last one home. There for 3 days .
Hotel is expensive to me but not as expensive as they are now 180 for 3 nts all pay in advance a few days before.
if I take insurance will it pay out if they offer me a later flt on the same day as it will leave me short on time to see whole island?
Also if I pay the insurance cost and excess if claim do I get back the full cost ie flt from easy jet and htl .
So confused.
Thanks

You need to read the policy details on delays and cancellations. They are all different.

They won’t give you any money because you suddenly have ‘less time to visit the island’. They will pay for costs already incurred. If easyJet cancels your flight last minute but does manage to get you on a later one, all you will be entitled to is compensation from the airline. For a short flight it’s somewhere around a couple hundred £.

If the flight is cancelled with no alternative, easyJet will give you a full refund. They have to, by law.

You need to read each insurance policy in full to see if they would also cover the accommodation cost after a disruption in travel. Some policies do, some don’t.

My policy starts to compensate you after a 12h delay or longer. It’s something like the equivalent of £40 per half day of delayed travel, but this is not standard. I also have no excess to pay which is what makes this clause worth it. It would also be unlikely that with 4 flights a day, you’re delayed for more than 12 hours.
