We will be inbetween housing 24th July - 4th August, staying with friends in the Cotswolds before and moving into our new home in Hampshire after

any brilliant ideas or suggestions for the interim two weeks, seeing as we have freedom from the pets? Family of 4 with young-teens, thinking as we’re in the Cotswolds anyway maybe Bristol (we both went to uni there) and then onto Cardiff/Swansea/Gower or up to the Brecon Beacons, or should we stick to Gloucestershire/Herefordshire? Not Cornwall as we have October half term plans that way

so last minute I’m assuming there will be little choice but not sure where to start. Only caveat is DH needs decent internet in order to WFH in the evenings

You could try and get an Airbnb in Bath and do a day trip or two to Bristol, plus Stonehenge, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat. Of course, there’s plenty to do in Bath itself so it wouldn’t be driving every day.

Thanks for response - we did a week in Bath just before the pandemic so it’s prob the only place we won’t go to. A week in Bristol would prob be good but then another week somewhere….

Mt parents love St Florence near Tenby.

I was going to suggest the balloon fiesta but realised you're going a week too early. (It starts 11th August).

Go to Cardiff - you can do the bay Techniquest, boat trips, the pool, the castle. You can go to Caerphilly castle it’s less than half an hour by train. If you go by car you can get to castell coch near Pontypridd, the zip wire rude in Merthyr is less than an hour away, Big Pit mining museum is about an hour away, the Brecon Beacons is not far either. You can go to Barry island if you want a beach or go a bit further to the Gower or further west to Pembrokeshire.
If you stay in Cardiff you will get decent 4G and around the bigger towns like Ponty Caerphilly or Barry but it might be patchy out in the Countryside.

I’d do a long weekend in Briz and then the rest on Gower which is beautiful. Look at Home from Home for sc options. Personally, I’d stay in Mumbles, Langland or Newton, as you are walking distance from shops and restaurants plus beaches Langland, Caswell as well as Bracelet and Limeslade ( both great for rockpooling). You are an easy drive to the rest of Gower. If you are walkers, the coast path from Caswell to Pwll Du, via Brandy Cove, is gorgeous. I’d also recommend the coast path from Rhossli to Mewslade Bay, via Fall Bay.

I lived in Briz for 10 years before coming to Gower so no both areas well.
