Do they like Music? - if so the British Music Experience was fab www.britishmusicexperience.com/

And for history, I'd defo recommend Western Approaches liverpoolwarmuseum.co.uk/
I think kids go free here

Toddlerteaplease · 01/06/2022 01:21

The museums are all really good and free.
Both Cathedrals are work a visit. Moose coffee is great for brunch.
Get the train up the coast to see 'Another place'

All the free museums- my kids like the maritime museum and the museum of Liverpool best - both down by the Albert dock.

Cat cafe

Bold street for food.

Mersey ferry

KangarooKenny · 01/06/2022 08:29

You must go on the ferry.

Alone, that is a really weird thing to say.

Coupled with your user name it is hilarious.

Hope you enjoy it, agree about the museums, ferry and the two cathedrals.

We went for the day as part of a holiday to Chester/North Wales. My 7 yo and his Dad went on Anfield stadium tour, and took the open top bus from the museum/docks area. They really enjoyed that.
I stayed with the 1 yo and spent time in the Museum Of Liverpool, then wandered round the Dock. It's lovely down there, we really liked it and will probably head back for a full weekend at some point.

The water sports center does a fantastic speed boat trip around the dock, its nice and sedate but if you are up for it they will take you to part of the dock with no speed limit, we have a fantastic time

LeafyGreen333 · 02/06/2022 10:22

Definitely agree with going to see Antony Gormley's "Another Place" if you have time, particularly if it is a sunny day - sun, sea, art and ice cream - perfect afternoon!

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 02/06/2022 19:04

We spent most of the day at the dock, in the museums there and took a ferry across the mersey. Kids got very tired, which means ratty, with all the walking about by about 3. Will have to go back again in summer to do all the other suggestions! Thanks all.

I dont think people realise how much stuff can been seen and done in Liverpool and the Surrounding areas, I dont know of many cities where you can see a beach from the city centre. jus glad you had a good time

StottyCakeandJam · 02/06/2022 19:38

There’s an underground tour available too. It’s on my “must do” list for my next visit.
