Good morning. I’m hoping someone can help. My dd (14) is really struggling at the moment. Along with doing whatever I can at home, I was thinking of taking her away for the weekend of 17/19 June. I’m thinking lots of fresh air, countryside, and water may be just what is needed. I’d like to take her to Derbyshire and we want to visit the waterfalls. The problem I’m having is finding somewhere affordable but lovely to stay. Has anyone been and can recommend somewhere? I’m getting a little overwhelmed. Tia.

Have you considered North Wales?
It has lots of excellent waterfalls and plenty of cheap accommodation
Here are 3 great ones to visit one is small but perfectly formed, One is the Biggest single drop in Britain and Aber is just spectacular

Glossop is the nearest town for the Middle Black Clough and has a Travelodge and a few other options (Windy Harbour has shepherd's huts) We are pretty blessed with water in the form of reservoirs with some nice walks around them.

I'd also recommend North Wales for a bit more wow factor though!
